"Most noteworthy, perhaps, is David Fabelo’s editing..."

FOURPLAY: TAMPA – Hammer to Nail: High praise from Mr. Michael Tully for our short film that had its first in Park City last night. Yes, my ego inflated a bit with the above pull quote, but he does a great job high-lighting several members of cast and crew.

The screening was filled with plenty of laughs, both enthusiastic and anxious laughs, and even I was squirming in my seat as the climax of the film unfolded. Good Q & A and all around fantastic experience watching it with last nights crowd.

More stories to come when I have time to post!

BROKEN BONDS Web Series Premiere

Check out the first three episodes of the new web series BROKEN BONDS produced by Matt Patterson and Richard Jones (I may have had a hand in cutting these...):

"Comedy is a great lubricator, pardon the pun..."

FOURPLAY: TAMPA gets a nice mention in the Salt Lake City Tribune leading up to its Sundance premiere this Friday (which I will be attending - looking forward to seeing this with an audience for the first time outside of Austin).

Mention begins about halfway down this page - and with some quotes from Kyle to boot!

DO OVER going to the DAM Short Film Festival in February

This is the most exciting news of all in the last few weeks: My short film DO OVER - my first short film in six years and first short film as a "professional film maker" - will premiere at the 8th Annual DAM Short Film Festival on February 11th in Boulder City, NV.

Check out the details here!

"Do Over" long synopsis: Making a good first impression is the key to any successful romance. That's why as soon as his date with Sarah veers off course, high school sophomore Adam makes a simple request that just might give him another chance to impress her… and another… and another… and… another.

More news in the coming days and weeks as we near completion on "Do Over" and may even have more screening dates on the horizon... Check back soon!

Watch MARS on Netflix

The animated science fiction romantic-comedy (that's quite the genre blend!) MARS - which I co-edited with director Geoff Marslett - has arrived on Netflix Instant Streaming. If you're not pissed at Netflix anymore and retained your membership, check out this space epic next chance you get.

Support FOURPLAY on Kickstarter

FOURPLAY, directed by Kyle Henry, is an omnibus feature in four parts: Four short stories about sexual intimacy that take place in four different cities - Skokie, Illinois; Austin, Texas; Tampa, Florida; and San Francisco, California. I edited three of the sections (Skokie, Austin, and Tampa) while the talented Rita K. Sanders edited San Francisco.

"Fourplay: Tampa" premiered at the 2011 Cannes Director's Fortnight and will be showing next week at Sundance (I'll be there to see the reaction for my first time with an audience outside of Austin - very excited!).

We are looking forward to the feature premiering later this year, but to get there, we need your help. Please check out its Kickstarter page and please considering making a donation to get it to the finish line. Thanks!

Can I get a do over on this blog?

So since I gave myself a do over on my web site, I thought I might give myself a do over on this blog.

I've ignored it for the past few months despite the fact that there has been plenty of projects that I've been juggling that have been worth writing about. As I try to point more traffic to my web site, both to promote my work as a film maker - as a writer, director, and editor - and to promote the work of others I know and admire or who I have collaborated with, I will try to do a better job at updating this space.

This may be falling on deaf ears right now, but maybe you, dear reader, will discover this post midway through a series of other posts and be able to identify it as the point when the blog got a little more serious and in the words of mid 90s MTV, got a little more real.

In any case, do expect design changes (or not) as I try to settle on a 'look' and a voice for whatever it is this space will be used for.

Speaking of which, I've had it in the back of my mind that somewhere down the line - if time permits and if I feel so inclined - this space may be used for more than just my narcissistic ramblings and updates on projects the eight or so of you might be interested in (self-depracating humor will be a featured player here, folks - get used to it!). Maybe I will expand this space to include interviews of a type I'm not finding elsewhere (vague on purpose) or my own film criticism (careful now - don't bit the hand that feeds you) or mad man writings just to keep me writing. I don't know yet and I don't want to under-sell or over-sell or sell anything at all (a ... Say Anything clip just came to mind!). I just want to put it out there that... I'm thinking about something along those lines.

Now enjoy that ...Say Anything clip to distract you from the atrociousl paragraph above:
